DUSHANBE, 27.10.2026 /Khovar/. At the initiative of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, an interagency working group has been set up to identify the causes and consequences, and to take appropriate measures to prevent road traffic accidents.
The report says that in recent years accidents have occurred in the country's mountain regions because brakes have failed on heavy lorries while they were descending from high ground. Examples mentioned include Kulyab in 2023 and the road "Dushanbe - Kulyab - Khorugh" in 2026.
